Since we have never stayed at a B&B, we have nothing to compare our experience to, but our host, Draxie Rogers, the owner, made us we feel completely at home. She was warm and welcoming and gave us no need to visit the local visitor's center as she was able to give us all the info. we needed on what to see, where to eat and where to avoid.
The house is the 3rd oldest in Eureka Springs and filled with history. Sunnyside served as the VIP cottage for the Thatch Hotel, directly across the street, in the early part of the 1900s. Distinguished guests included Mr. Wrigley, of Wrigley's Gum and Wrigley Field in Chicago, a frequent guest who spent two months a year there enjoying the spring baths he felt improved his arthritis. Mr. Andrew Carnegie also stayed there, donating the current library to Eureka Springs. The Thatch, a beautiful 100 room all wood hotel, burned in 1934. Unfortunately the guest records burned with it.
