Run by a mutli-generation Kastoria family, this lovely hotel on the South Shore of Kastoria is a true find. Hostel is a misnomer-- it was one of the finest gems we stayed at during our two week trip in Greece and ranks as my favorite. The building is only a year old and everything is brand new-- plush bedding, window seats and balconys, true showers with doors (trust me, in Greece, this is hard to find). Included is a wonderful breakfast the next morning and the doting service of the owner Costas, his wife and their sisters. Maps were provided upon request, they let us use their computer to check our e-mail and drove us to the bus station the day we departed. It's very affordable - we paid 80 Euro/night for a luxurious room overlooking the lake. Well located, too-- on the quieter, side of the lake behind a bend, but still close enough to walk to the center of town, the north shore or the bus station. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. more
