This was a well-located hotel for exploring the fabulous area of Lake Myvan. The rooms were par for the course for Iceland and the staff were friendly. Nice hotel over looking the Pseudo craters. We didn't eat dinner at the hotel we ate in Reykjahlíð but breakfast is good and we had a few drinks at the bar, which is important as this place like so many others is very isolated. Just opposite the famous pseudo craters of Myvatn. Spacious room with a nice view over the lake and the craters. We stayed here two nights in early July, 2008 for vacation. Friendly staff. What a hidden treasure this Hotel is. It is run very professionally yet extremely friendly at the same time. The hotel rooms are excellent, perhaps the sinks are a little small but that is a very minor criticism compared with all the strong plusses for this hotel and staff. Stayed two nights in october, cant complaint about the room as it was a good size. staff were helpful. the best thing about the hotel was the cafeteria attached which served tasty but cheap food. the water from the taps /shower in the room tasted and smelt funny - i assume it was something to do with the volcanic activity... more
