This was my 6th trip to Iceland and I stayed in many hotels. This was the first one where I would like to stay longer, not just for an overnight stay. what a pleasant, stylish place to stay! and the view over the river is priceless. you are a 5 minutes walk away from the ever "moving earth". you see... more

Our experience at Frost and Fire was positive. The ability to walk out from the guest house to trails and link up with a Golden Circle tour was great. The rooms at Frost and Fire are quite small and during the summer allow light in through a skylight day and night. We did enjoy the hotpots and the pool as... more

The room was very clean and the decoration/design made a welcome change to the euro bland normally offered by hotel chains. The room had a kettle so filling flasks for a days travelling and late night drinks were no problem. The owner was very friendly and his desire to create a homely environment has obviously succeeded. The breakfast was of... more

Beautiful guesthouse. The staff are very nice. The owner is an attorney who loves so much Icelandics' paintings. Each rooms have an Icelandic painter name and have paints in the room. There are hot spots, swimming pool, steam bath. The price of the room includes Breakfast. more

I would definitely recommend this place. They have hot pots that overlook a river. The rooms are a bit small but nicely decorated. They are about 2 miles from some good hiking destinations. There is a skylight that is about 2 feet by 2 feet that lets in some sun. Overall, a nice place to stay. more

We stayed two nights at the Frost & Fire in Hveragerði. This was the best place we stayed on our Icelandic holiday, I can't say enough good about this place. We stayed in the main building of the B&B. The property has excellent design, lots of artwork and very stylistic. The staff, especially Olga, were incredibly thoughtful, friendly and helpful.... more

The guesthouse is modern and clean, with a nice hot tub right on the river. Our hostess, Maria, was very nice. The shower was very small, but the room was quite large with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was a standard Icelandic continental breakfast. The main drawback was that all rooms have skylights with no shades, so the room was very... more

Frost and Fire located in Hveragerði is a guesthouse like none other with 2 outdoor hot tubs, a pool, and a sauna powered by hot springs. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and in view of the river. Breakfast is solid and fresh - make sure you try the smoked salmon from Myvatn. Good location to hike around the active mountain... more

Sadly only stayed here one night at the end of our trip. It's an amazing place. The rooms are lovely, and have breath-taking views across the river and mountains. They're all really modern with amazing art work. A real step up from your average guesthouse. It was snowing and blowing a gale literally when we stayed so couldn't quite brave... more

We had a party of four who stayed here one night on the last day of August, 2008. We had originally booked at a chain hotel but it was so expensive that we had to search for more affordable accommodation. I found the hotel website on recommendation of fellow travelers on this site (Thank You) http://www.frostandfire.is/english/home.html On sending off an... more
