A small, friendly hotel which is in an isolated spot a short drive to the spectacular Gullfoss waterfalls. The food was fine but we found it a little un-imaginative after experiencing some superb Icelandic cuisine in other parts of the country. The hotel gave us the appearance of being slightly run-down and needs brightening-up.

Fantastic people, incredible food. Always stay here when in Iceland. Ideally placed for the Northern Lights. A friendly atmosphere, non pushy lovely hosts. Dark skies for astronomy. We travel to Gullfoss several timesaver year now and we are always very pleased with our stays.

Spotlessly clean, comfortable, friendly and beautifully situated. Gullfoss Hotel is perfectly placed, just a couple of minutes from Gulfoss waterfall and surrounded by spectacular scenery. Geysir is only 5 minutes drive away and the surrounding countryside is great for exploring, photography and just enjoying the beauty of Iceland. We stayed here for two nights and couldnt of asked for more. Great ocation to see the Northern lights as its in the middle of nowhere, Really close to Gullfoss Waterfall and the Geysirs. Clean and quiet. Nice to be close to the falls and when the auroras came on the outside lights went out which was a good bonus. Hot tub hit the spot even with a bit of light snow. Dinner was very good. Both fish and lamb dishes were excellent. Breakfasts were more than adequate.

A perfect location for visiting Gullfoss waterfall, Geysir and a comfortable to distance to Thingvellir also. The decor is a little stuck in the 70s, but in terms of cleanliness and comfort, it was faultless.

Not the fanciest of hotels, but it's warm and welcoming, close to Gullfoss and Geysir. The dinner was good, if somewhat expensive, but the breakfast buffet was plentiful and excellent. Also a great spot to view the Northern Lights, well away from light pollution - though sadly the Aurora wasn't playing ball for us when we stayed

Stayed here as part of a package tour. Small hotel was nice as it was almost entirely taken up by our group only. Didn't have time to use the hot tub. Rooms were clean and neat. Dinner at the hotel was average, but the skyr dessert was impressive.
