This Fodor's recommended hotel should be avoided if possible. What may have been charming 30 years ago is now just tired and apparently has been ignored by its owners for many years. Wallpaper is peeling, carpets are dirty and common areas are unwelcoming. more

This place should be shut down. We booked it for a one night stay because of its proximity (30 minutes from Dublin airport). The carpark is found by driving though the narrowest of alleys and was free. That is the best that could be said about this place. It was recommended by Fodors which is a joke because anyone who... more

Didnt stay in this hotel but went in for lunch . The rudest barman ever works here despite signs outside for carvery dinner and on the blackboard we were told it was bar menu only, no big deal, I ordered a drink at the bar and the barman slammed my change on the counter with out so much as a... more

Our stay at this delightful little hotel in Slane village was simply charming. Slane is an historical village steeped in history and the hotel dates back many, many years, it has so much character something you dont find oftern these days in modern hotel. The staff were polite and friendly, great scones by the way! We stayed in a lovely... more

This hotel is an example of what's rotten in the Irish hospitality industry and some would say the country as a whole. We booked the hotel some months ago as friends were getting married elsewhere in the town and accommmodation options were limited. I had my own misgivings when asked to pay EUR 180 for a night in a borderline... more

I never fill out reviews but this staying in this hotel just drove me to do something to prevent other people making the same mistake as me. Im just back from staying one night in this hotel, and I have to say I was not impressed. The staff were friendly enough and the food was fine but that was as... more

I made a reservation with this hotel last May, when we received an invitation to a wedding at the nearby Slane Castle. At the time I was asked to ring the week of the wedding to confirm the reservation. This I did two days before our arrival and was assured by the very pleasant lady on the phone that all... more

The hotel is magnificent and we have never experienced such friendly service before. It was so lovely that it was hard to drag ourselves away from the hotel to go to Newgrange, Tara, Hill of Slane, Knowth, but when we visited these places they were spectacular. Drakov the night porter was overly helpful and couldnt do enough for us and... more

This was by far the most expensive place I stayed during a 2 week stay in Ireland and while the place was pleasant enough (nice 4-poster beds) it was certainly nothing special and not worth paying 50% more than I paid at half a dozen B&B's. But the kicker was that I was billed TWICE for my stay - once... more
