Stayed here with my wife - like other reviewers we were attending a wedding reception at BrookLodge just up the road (fabulous place) The room we had (number 9) was certainly in need of updating. We had a slate roof for a view with grime piled up on the outside. The bed was uncomfortable and had a "hairy" blanket. The... more

While the outdated decor wasn't great the first thing that hit me was the bad smell. It was disgusting stale drink and cigarettes the whole hotel reeked. Were handed the key and directed to our room. I was disgusted when we got there. The bed covers were torn, door nobs were off the wardrobe, springs were gone on the bed.... more

I stayed here recently with my relatives while we attended a family function in Aughrim. Aughrim is a beautiful and picturesque village, so well kept and blooming with flowers and hanging baskets. This place does not fit in at all! The rooms are gruby, the staff are minimal (the receptionist also served us drinks and food. The food was over... more

Don't stay at this hotel, you would be better of sleeping in your car. The beds are tiny and uncomfortable. There was no hot water, and the shower drain was blocked anyway. The cleaning ladies had a blazing argument outside my door at 6 in the morning, and by the look of it never got around to very much cleaning.... more

This hotel is in the very heart of "dowtown" Aughrim. I stayed here as part of a group of couples for a wedding in nearby Brooklodge (which is lovely). A double room cost €100 and I am, frankly, shocked that anyone could have the nerve to charge us that for what we got. One couple had to share a single... more

Where to start. No hot water in shower or bath.1 old worn blanket per bed with torn bed cover. Our room was booked for 2 nights but there was no cleaning of room done when we were out and no... more

Just an hour from Dublin port, a good break on the way back from south, easy journey for morning ferry. Grand bar food and of course the Guinness! more

We have just held a 50th Wedding Anniversary party for our parents at Lawless Hotel which was a huge success. The hotel were excellent in every aspect of the event -the organisation, the setting up of the room, the quality of the food, and the value for money. The staff were courteous, professional and helpful at all times-nothing was too... more

Stayed for 4 nights. Pleasant services. Charming decorations in the communal parts of the hotel. The room I stayed in was simple. Properly cleaned. Water facilities in the bathroom are becoming tired and would need some update soon. A hairdryer was located in a drawer. The food standard is good. Very quiet, except for a night when they held a... more

We stayed at the Lawless last week when the Woodenbridge couldn't find/refused to honor our reservations. Although I had made a note to avoid the Lawless after reading through previous Trip Advisor comments, management at the Woodenbridge assured us that it was under new management and "every bit as good as" the Woodenbridge...and due to the late hour and a... more
