“Beautiful setting,wonderful hotel”

The views from this hotel are magical.Hotel staff are professional and helpful.The restaurant is very good and has a Michelin rosette.Rooms are spacious with high ceilings and comfortable furnishings.

Very relaxing, attractive hotel. Great views of river and historic centre of Amarante. Huge comfortable room with separate lounge. Swimming pool is small and wasn't open yet. “A beautiful old chateau”

The hotel lived up to its description and our room was excellent, but the hotel was practically empty and as quiet as the grave. We visited in early March 2013, and the biggest disappointmant of the trip was the lack of decent restaurants in Amarante. We stayed for 3 nights and really struggled finding somewhere to eat in the evening
