The staff is friendly and helpful in this centrally located hotel in Amaranate. Rooms are not large but clean and efficient. Breakfast is hot and cold items. I loved the breads. Located on main street with in walking distance of much of the town. Many cafes and bars.

We traveled to the north of Portugal to attend a wedding. The Navarras hotel is in a very central location in Amarante, near the historical center. The parking near the hotel is not very easy but the hotel has a car park. The rooms are clean and relatively comfortable, with a complete en-suite WC. The staff was not particularly nice,... More

We stayed in this hotel for one night. We had a family room with a double bed in one part and an extra bed + a sofa-bed in the other. There was a balcony and 2 TV sets. The hotel is located next to the old town but it stands near the road. However it was not noisy during the... More

I stayed there in june for the famous fair where they pay tribute to their patron saint gonzalo. I payed 55 euros the night. I thought it was a bit overpriced considering the rooms were old and they didnt offer free internet. On the other hand, breakfast was amazing. It was typical european style with cheese, hams... delicious!

I don't want to bad-mouth this place too much; it just turned out to be the least appealing of the five hotels we stayed at during our mini-tour of northern and central Portugal. We had intended to stay for two nights in Braga, using that as a base for day trips out (including to Amarante); however, driving into Braga on... More

First, I don't understand how Trip Advisor takes one 2-star review and one 3-star review and comes up with an average of 3.5 stars (which is what was showing before I wrote this review). I'm writing this mainly to get the total to show closer to what the reviews are actually saying. Now for the hotel: While Amarante is pretty... More

Huge hotel built in the seventies (or so) as the major convention centre in the city but today a little oversized and old-fashioned. Rooms are clean but anyone can sleep a night in my bed (i didn't tested some others) because of the noises it made and the pillows (one's not enough, two're too much). I can´t recommend the bed...
