We stayed there last weekend in room 22 - beware, this room is sub-standard. We had booked and paid in advance for a double non-smoker and ended up with a twin/smoker. The hotel was full and room 22 did not have the customary terrace with table and chairs (only a service roof top - unguarded, with cables etc). Despite being... More

We stayed here for one night in March as part of our Easter week travels through Andalucia. The staff were excellent and helpful. The rooms were large and clean with spectacular views. The dining room was large, medieval looking and pleasant. The breakfast was plentiful with lots of variety. Anyone traveling in this part of Spain should treat themselves to... More

We stayed at the Parador de Jaen on 31/3/13 and it was amazing. Excellent staff, perfect, beatifully spotless accommodation and food. NO SMELLS at all. It was the first stop on our Andalucia Legacy ll route booked through Paradores of Spain The view from our room and the courtyard in front of the hotel was jaw droppingly awesome. Would recommend... Even though its not a "REAL" castle, it it done in a way that my 8 year old thought that it was a real castle. The real castle is next door and would be quite uncomfortable, as it probably dates from 1,200ad or so. The Parador "castle" has tremendous views and really neat sitting areas and common areas. The staff... More

In common with a few other reviewers, although there was a lovely view from my room, there was a really unpleasant smell from the bathroom. I had a balcony, though it wasn't very private as you can see the balconies belonging to the next rooms. The location on top of the hill overlooking Jaen is spectacular and the architecture, while... My wife and I - together with two other couples - recently spent two nights in the Parador de Jaen. The position is probably unrivalled in the whole of Spain and the views from the Parador, which sits on a high ridge overlooking the city, were spectacular. However, all three of the bedrooms that we occupied - No. 7, 8... More

The hotel has an exceptional location on a cliff with 360 degrees view. The city of Jaen is not within walking distance. The rooms are in need of renovation, and our room had a very bad smell. The price was OK.

It's a very beautiful parador, with very typical decoration. All the rooms are well arranged with very confortable double beds. They all have a little terrace with a deep view on the village. Breakfast is very various and good. No problem with the staff. Wifi only at the front desk. Very quiet place !

The jaen parador is an exquisite building with breathtaking views but it is somewhat a disconnect as the staff is generally unhelpful and the front desk bordered on being outwardly hostile and rude. I don't understand why a question related to directions into town or other sightseeing related topics should be meant with such rudeness.

The hotel is very nice being on top of a hill annex to a real castle. You need a GPS to get there (and need a car). The rooms were nice, the main lounge is like a castle room and the pool must be nice but it was closed in October. No problem using the Wifi in our room either.... More
