Super charming studio in a hillside town just under the castle. We drove about 10k on a winding uphill mountain road to get to this idyllic little town with white washed buildings on a steep hillside.
Found the alojamentos rurales and restaurant quite by accident and we were very pleased. The room was very nicely decorated including lots of Spanish features, heavy hand hewn wood doors with hand-crafted iron fixtures, all different, plus lots of Spanish tile. Large French doors opening out to a balcony with incredible 180 vistas of the mountains and valleys. Real wood-burning fireplace which was nice as it was stormy when we were there, and a small kitchenette (fridge, micro, 2 burners, sink, plenty of dishes and glassware). The restaurant was equally impressive. We had fantastic food in a beautiful setting. The service was very friendly & helpful,
even though the waitress (also checked us into our room) knew not a bit of English. The renovated castle has interesting...
