We have just spent two nights at the Blue Pig and can't recommend it high enough. It was excellent. Very clean, comfortable with quality furnishings and the owners Bill & Sue couldn't do enough for us. In a marvellous town there has always been a surprising lack of quality in terms of accommodation. Attractive, well-equipped rooms with character as the house dates from the 17th century. This means the rooms are on the small side, but they have everything you need. Fantastic memory foam mattress on the bed made for a great night's sleep. Cheerful banter over a sociable and tasty breakfast. Definitely recommended. more

This is a 17th century inn with beamed ceilings recently renovated in 2008. The hosts, Bill and Sue, did everything they could to be accommodating. They did provide a private parking space at no extra charge. They called in a local historian to help with my genealogical inquiries. We arrived early to be greeted by a super couple in Bill and Sue. Lovely cottage in town centre, very cosy lounge with coal fire.
