I stayed here in April on my cycle from Lands End to John O Groats and everything was perfect. I found the staff to be welcoming and helpful. The room was comfortable,well equipped and reasonably priced. The food and beer were also to my taste and again very reasonably priced. I can not wait to go back.

Just spent four nights at the Barbon, very comfortable bed nice spacious room. Only problem was shower a bit small for a big bloke. Food is good healthy portions of excellent home made fayre. Good choice for breakfast as well. Well kept local beer. all in all a great little place

Value for money, fantastic bar great wine list and good beer the food was typical good home cooking enjoyed our meal, bedrooms clean and warm this pub is not pretending anything that it's not, Nice walks around Barbon and near to Kirkby Lonsdale the Lake District and North Yorkshire Dales.Good offers. Just a short drive from the motorway is this excellent country inn. A lovely warm bar with great real ales and friendly staff. Some very good reasonably priced food and then a very comfortable room.

In fact even better as rooms have been re furbished. The staff are excellent and the food was gorgeous I came with others this time and they loved it too

I read the last review with a great deal of interest. We too visited the Barbon Inn in February and were somewhat surprised to find it closed on a Saturday afternoon. On a drizzly Sunday in February tried to check in at 5.00pm but noted on the door not until 6.00pm. All looked very dreary and unwelcoming.
