How many times have you stayed at a hotel and afterwards thought “that was quite nice, but....” and listed a few things that disappointed you, or which could have been improved. Well, in the case of the George that was certainly not the case. Room 5, which we particularly asked for, had lovely views across the reed beds. The room... more

Stayed here for two night for a birding trip. Room spotlessly clean and recently refurbished and very comfortable. This is a pub that really cant make up its mind if its a pub or restuarant. I would advise that they remain a pub as the food and menu is expensive for bar food and a far cry from a restuarant.... more

I took my husband to stay at the George for a birthday treat having stayed in may hotels in East Anglia I decided to try somewhere new. Unfortunately this is not somewhere I would stay again. This is more like a pub with rooms than a hotel. On the plus side the room was refurbished to a high standard. On... more

Wanted somewhere to stay in Norfolk and close to the sea, we took pot luck and booked the George from their web site. When we arrived, from the external appearance we both felt we might have got it wrong, however, when we got to our room it was such a pleasant surprise; clean, recently decorated with a large double bedroom,... more

We've just returned from a weekend break at the George. It's a quiet country pub with rooms and a restaurant, only a short walk from the Cley marshes nature reserve, so ideal for us as keen birdwatchers. Our room overlooked the marshes and had been recently refurbished - simply decorated with a very powerful shower, just the thing after a... more

Didn't stay there but booked in for dinner on Sunday 21st October 2007. Had a couple of drinks first at the bar which was fine as we were early and it gave us time to look at the menu. No wine menu offered though. Called through to table to find food already there when we arrived - have never encountered... more

We stayed in room 3 which has recently been refurbished. It is a very comfortable room with a separate lounge area. It has good views of the marshes. The food at the hotel was good value for money. Being by the sea there was a range of fish to choose from. We stayed on the evening of the bank holiday... more
