I have just returned from staying at The Merchants House in Wells-next-the-Sea. Dennis and Liz are the perfect hosts, making you feel welcome and at ease from the moment you arrive. Rosie and Poppy are their two dogs who, apart from barking at the postman each morning and thereby making me laugh, they are perfectly behaved and exceptionally friendly dogs.... more

We stayed at The Merchants House in Wells just for one night but such was the warmth of the owners Dennis and Liz we felt we'd been there a week! The Merchants House was spotless and the owners very welcoming. It had the things I like such as really fresh bedding, plenty of tea/coffee, a very pretty courtyard to sit out in and was close enough to walk in one minute to the Quay and start of the Wells Beach Path.
