We opted for a standard room and found this was a box room at the back of the hotel overlooking the bins/car park. The room was very dated, with a bathroom that had a very small shower with mould on the tiles. The fittings in the bathroom weren't all working. The room was also very cold. TV very small with... more

Superior room booked, Bed Linen and towels were the only things clean, extremely mouldy shower, complimentary toiletries pathetic, a/c not working, no heating, carpet was filthy, curtains falling off the rails, room in desperate need of complete refurbishment. Dirty cutlery in the room and and the dining room, no staff present during the weekend - mobile no. supplied for emergencies,... more

We stayed at the Cross Houe for 3 nights last week. We had trouble getting booked in to anywhere as we had left it quite late to book and, to be honest, were a little concerned about staying at the Cross House Hotel when we read some of the past reviews. BUT, we were absolutely delighted with the Hotel. I... more

This is more of a B&B than a hotel. The rooms were nice, but old fashioned. The entire hotel is in need of a good refurbish as many parts are shabby/broken/neglected. The staff were friendly and helpful and always made an effort to make you feel welcome The other downside was there was no parking available and street parking was... more

I booked the Cross House for a two night stay after viewing its wb site, When we arrived the gardens looked very very sad, completley neglected and overgrown. The staff were freindly and helpfull but thats where it ended, Hotel room was very very shabby, carpets were well worn and the decor quite simply was past its sell by date,... more

After booking this hotel and THEN reading the bad reviews that some people have put on here, my partner and I were obviously reluctant to stay at the Cross House Hotel, but we stuck with it and found it is a really relaxed and welcoming place to stay. Our room was very comfortable and quirky and everything that we needed.... more

The shower was moldy, the bulbs needed fixing in the ensuite, the cups did not match and were dirty. There was rubbish outside our window. The room was tired and shabby. The breakfast was good. I have marked it as terrible rather than poor as it wasn't cheap either! more

We booked the Cross House Hotel as the finale of our stay in Cornwall. Having camped down in Penzance we were looking forward to a little luxury at the end of our holiday. When we booked we asked for a babysitter on the Thursday night so we could have a romantic meal at Rick Stein;s The Seafood Restaurant. The hotel... more

We stayed at the Cross House hotel following a week further down the coast in Cornwall. We had a table booked for lunch at a restaurant in town , so rang to enquire if we were able to check in 2 hours earlier than the time stated on our letter of confirmation. We explained the circumstances and I was hopeful... more
