We stayed here for our mini-honeymoon the day after we got married. Feeling a tad worse for wear and after a disastrous journey from London we finally arrived in Padstow at St Petrocs Hotel. We were upgraded straight away and led to our lovely room (cant remember the name). We ate in the Bistro on the 1st night and the... more

Just returned home after one night's stay at St Petroc's Hotel and Bistro, Padstow. Lovely hotel with friendly helpful staff. We stayed in the St Wenn Room. Well appointed room - a large comfortable bed with clean crisp linen. Good size bathroom, fluffy towels, bathrobes and Molton Brown products. We ate at the Seafood Restaurant which we had booked in... more

We stayed in Prospect House in the disabled-adapted Penrose and Crugmeer rooms. This was our first visit to Padstow, and it was dark and late when we arrived, but St Petroc's hotel, where you check in, is on the road through Padstow so was easy to find. The staff were very welcoming and we were met near the car park... more

We stayed in the Estuary room. You can see the estuary, as promised, but it is behind some rooftops. The room was quite charming, spacious with a lovely (if small) bathroom. The beds were too soft for my liking. The room was reasonably quiet, but in the morning we were woken early by vehicles passing up and down the road... more

Padstow (Padstein!) is an overcrowded delightful Cornish village. The overwhelming presence of Stein company establishments make it a bit like a set from "The Prisoner!". We stayed 2 nights in the hotel. Dinner 1 night at the Seafood Restaurant, hotel restaurant the other night. Staff variable at both - waitresses (local) delightful, Maitre D- naff! Disinterested incomprehensible. Hotel staff likewise... more

We celebrated my birthday here with a special meal and it was everything I had hoped for. Not overly expensive as the Seafood Restaurant appeared to be and a totally relaxed atmosphere. The waiting staff were very friendly and helpful - they were able to answer any question I had about the menu. We had some local Cornish 'Champagne' which... more

We were disappointed with our visit and unanimously felt this to be a destination restaurant that was dining out on its own reputation. Everything is in the details but many simple things that one would expect in such a restaurant were overlooked. Our first greeting was cool and indifferent. When we explained that our party had unexpectedly changed from 5... more

We were pleased to get a booking and pay such reasonable prices. A straightforward menu including meat. Food for my grandson was delicious and at £4.50 very child friendly for two courses. My son's partner's fennel was not "blanched" enough and disputed by Chef - he is of course the professional! Otherwise every item of food was perfect for everyone.... more

We spent two nights at St Petrocs and Padstow at the end of our two week trip around Devon and Cornwall, coinciding the stay with my 30th. Over two weeks we were the fortunate victims of some great hospitality, but Petrocs really let us down and proved a total anti climax. The Stein quality we found at his Seafood restaurant... more

This is a lovely, charming hotel located just far enough off the main harbour area to escape the crowds. We stayed in two rooms - the very large St Wenn and the Yellow room, which we actually preferred as it was more cosy. Both were beautiful with views over the slate rooftops of Padstow to the sea beyond. One quibble... more
