Having just arrived back from a weekend in Padstow with my boyfriend, I wanted to tell everyone about the great B&B we found there. The Sunbeam Cottage is run by a very helpful lady called Wendy. She showed us to our room, took our breakfast order for the next day and pointed out areas to park for free. It is centrally based (just a stones throw from Rick Stein's seafood restaurant), although does not have a view of the harbour (N.B. For the uninitiated, the view of the harbour is by no means the best Cornwall has to offer anyway). We paid £55 for the room per night, which I thought was excellent value compared to other B&Bs which were over £100 a night in January! The room was fairly spacious, clean and very tastefully decorated, definitely up a notch up from the image of the traditional 1960s B&B. Best of all - breakfast is served in your bedroom!
