We have just returned from a one night stay in the Mayflower Cottage, Lyme Regis. We are lucky it was only a one night stay! The rooms were very out of date, and shabby-looking. Bad beds, and a musty smell made it worse. It got even worse when we tried to use the showers and bath in the upstairs room and downstairs....one diddn't work, and one cut out on us fully twice, both when one of us was fully soaped up! The taps also stopped in this instance. The owner said he didn't know why this happened...not good enough in our view. Breakfast tasted of old oil, and cerials were very stale. And to make it worse, the other room was occupied by an old couple and their dog!! They took the dog out to pee in the night, waking us all up, whistling and yelling. Then proceded to leave their door open and turn the telly up full boar.
Not worth any money, let alone fifty quid per room.
