This hotel charges 4 star prices for 2 star rooms. We stayed in room 7. The bedroom was comfortable but the bathroom left much to be desired and was in desperate need of renovation! As for the view, you could see open countryside but directly below was an old shed and an untidy back yard ! We haven't got any... more

Have just spent weekend at Dower House Hotel on our first visit to Lyme Regis. Room 8 was exactly as seen on website. We found the room to be comfortable and very clean. Breakfast was good, with a selection of cereals and fruit and cooked to order breakfast was tasty. Staff were attentive and pleasant and we would stay again. more

We stayed in the Dower house back in 2004, and then returned again in 2006. I love this place. The owner Tim is very friendly and goes out of his way to make the visit special. On our first visit he upgraded our room to a four poster. On the second visit the chef made some icecream especially for me.... more

Have eaten here three times since the new owners took over, the food is excellent (they have a very good local chef who specialises in fish cooking Thursday, Friday and Saturday).
