An hotel that offers a degree of gentility not often found in the average seaside 2-star establishment. The food, especially the meat, is particularly to be recommended, and when one orders a steak 'saignant' (just done, not rare) the staff understand this and the Chef cooks it to perfection. loved our stay. Staff very friendly gave us a good welcome. Nice size room with lovely sea view couldnt stop watching all the boats going by. Breakfast very nice and plenty of it. Would like to stay there again some time. more

Me and my wife arrived at the Cliff Hotel in Dovercourt, and was pleased to see plenty of on-street parking. The Views Are great,and the bar/restaurant are in good order with friendly staff. Yes the rooms are a bit tied but what do you expect of our lovely Victorian property's. We had great views of the sea and Harbour entrance. Went on walk about the locals made... more

Having stayed in the Cliff Hotel for an Easter break at least half a dozen times, I was surprised to see somebody else's review stating it wasn't very good. i have been to this hotel a couple of times but not my choice if staying in harwich i would chooses the tower or better still the pier but my sister always uses this place for amy function she is holding the food is awful the rooms are worse and if you could meet staff so rude please email me... more
