We stayed for one night in the Mason's arms. On entry it is shabby and the pay up front policy goes a long way to describe what to expect. The room was ok sized but the "ensuite" was little bigger than a telephone box and that space included a toilet, basin and shower. The shower barely worked and had no hot water, the basin was difficult to reach and the toilet had a "saniflo" device which meant every flush made the sound of an express train; great for those nocturnal visits!
The room itself was clean but everywhere smelt "old" and in need of a good refurbishment. We decided to eat elsewhere and found the "Halal Tandoori" which I can recommend.
Along with the pay up front policy, the notices posted in the room for various things with a "don't do x or else..." only goes to highlight the type of clientele the Mason's Arms usually expects.
When you arrive it is hard to find: we drove around Louth's one way...
