My partner is a big fan of 'Most Haunted' & has always wanted to stay in a haunted hotel, we were touring Northumberland & had chosen the hotel from the website. I had reservations after booking over the 'phone as the person seemed not to understand English - but the website looked OK & I know that many Indian business... more

we expected a nice clean small hotel- it was not. It was a throwback to the 70's and I dont think it had been cleaned since then. We were lucky enough to have a basically clean bedroom but the shower consisted of a rubber hose the kind I used in 1960 which fixed on the taps. Lucky for us we... more

What a truly awful experience! Dirty, smelly and run down with not one redeeming feature. My daughter's room had no pillowcases and even after three very polite requests, none were provided. The outside beer garden was strewn with cigarette ends and the laundry was spread out to dry amongst the tables and chairs. The place smelt of old clothes and... more

We booked the Schooner Hotel as a birthday treat and it was dreadful. It was dirty, smelly, unfriendly and poorly run. Despite asking three times we had no pillow cases to cover the stained pillows in our rooms, we had no towels and the shower fell off the wall when I used it. We ate breakfast surrounded by dirty plates,... more

we looked on the website and were excited as it looked really good, oh dear so not the case, for one thing you are unable to get smells on the website and the smells in the hotel was foul, it is an old hotel but that is no excuse for dirt. There were carpets torn on stairs and very dangerous... more

The rooms are basic but you have evrything you need and are clean. Any problems and the staff are on hand to help. We decided to do... more
