The "stunning views" turned out to be a very very rusty fire escape. The room was very clean but had cheap chipped veneer furniture. Couldn't stand in front of the washbasin unless one stood on the loo. Almost certainly not the best room - but the hotel was nearly empty! Had it been full one would have made allowances. My stay was made very comfortable. Room was perfect. Meals provided were excellent with plenty of choices. All out group were made very welcome & accomadated & looked after well. Having spent three days at the Longmynd Hotel with a group of friends I must spread the word. Food,Service, Rooms and Location the very best in Shropshire. A family run hotel in a true sense of the word the proprietor never far away helped by super staff. more

We recently celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary at this hotel (having spent our first night there as a married couple). Everything that I had asked for in advance from the type of room to a dozen red roses to be delivered for my wife was executed without a problem. Whatever you do don't think that you can eat here or get a drink at the bar on a Wednesday night - the local rotarians meet here each week and guests are treated as 2nd class citizens.
