I will start by stating that I agree with comments regarding the eccentricity of the proprietors to a point...however they can afford to be! This place is simply gorgeous, from the charming roses above the door to our room (The Governor's House) to the views of the church and the vases of sweet peas on what felt like every surface.... more

The village of Lacock is amazing... Time has stopped here. We had a very pleasant stay with David and Simone McDowell. David told us about the history of the village, explained some of the locations used for movies, and showed us around in the pottery. Great B&B in the heart of the beautiful village of Lacock. Elegant but simply furnished room with a smart en suite. Very atmospheric old house with a roaring fire.
