Had recent 3 night stay whilst on walking holiday,an injury requiring a bit of rest and found it a wonderful place for a relaxing stay.The village,New Luce and surrounding area has a different pace of life to what I am used to,even in my own fairly small village.Quiet with hardly any traffic.
The hotel itself is clean and full of character with garden next to lovely river.Food was excellent,good beers and friendly locals.Couldn't ask for better hosts,Gordon and Susan.Definitely hope to return again myself someday. more

I was recommended the Kenmuir Arms Hotel, when working in the area in April 2009.
I must say I was impressed by the good food, and the general standards of cleanliness and customer care.Some of the rooms are ensuite, though none have Telephone/Tv or Radio. However there is a residents lounge with Tv, dvd`s and games etc.

Public transport is limited, so a car becomes essential to see the area at it`s best, whether you are a tourist or on business. If you are the active type, then New Luce has the Southern Upland way for walkers, and the river Luce for fishing. If golf is your passion, then the world famous Turnberry golf course is less than 1 hour away by car.
The port of Stranraer for the Ferry to Ireland, is a mere 9 miles or 15 minutes drive away. Stranraer is the gateway to the Mull of Galloway, with it`s sandy beaches and lovely scenery.

I have stayed in a number of hotels in this area, and would recommend this hotel for it`s excellent value for money... more
