Superb,cosy,spotless accomodation off the beaten track. Agree with everything previous reviewer has said.Great for nature lovers,cyclist and walkers-lots of trails.Dog friendly too-great for us! Newton Stewart about 20 mins away by car and there's a dog friendly cafe there called Cafe Cree-lots of other eateries around too but the lodges have everything you need for making your own grub! Great for just getting away from it all. Galloway forest park has one of the darkest skies in Europe so great for stargazing-no ambient light! Loved the owl webcams too! more

We have been to Waterside twice now (aug08 and may09). Tas and Nick are excellent hosts and have provided very high quality, well designed self catering accommodation which has privacy, total tranquility and stunning surroundings. They have made us feel very welcome and are helpful, easy going and very knowledgeable on the area (and taught us axe-throwing into the bargain!)

Watching tawny & barn owls nesting/ fledging/ hunting at waterside has been mesmerising and cycling around the area has been the perfect way to experience the scenery for the one of us who is part man/part bike!

Looking forward to returning. more
