To the person from Edinborough we met at Flodigarry, they've done a great deal to fix up the place, beautiful local art, and fabulous food in the dining room where we had gourmet food for Sunday lunch. We also were able to "rent" their Wifi to contact our families. We'd recommend this as the best food on the Island! Americans... more

Set on its own at the end of a long, single track lane, The Rodel Hotel is in an enchanting location. There is complete silence with just the slightest movement from the water in the little harbour. The building is a stunning old fortified house built in 1781 and has been refurbished, relatively sympathetically, about 8 years ago. When we... more

We stayed at the self catering accommodation (which is attached to and run by the hotel) for a week at the start of August. We took our 20 month old daughter and our dog and thought she'd have a bit more space to run around if we were in the self catering accommodation and we weren't disappointed. The accommodation was... more

We visited here for lunch after being told by the hotel we were staying in on Lewis that it was worth a visit before we caught the ferry to Skye. The lunch we had in the bar was fantastic. Really really tasty and our dog was welcomed by staff and locals who were having a drink at the bar. And... more

Small hotel but big on everything that matters. Spacious comfortable rooms, attention to every detail, excellent food. Could not fault it; and not expensive for the Hebrides. Especially appreciated the downloaded weather forecast on the table at breakfast. more

Discovered Rodel when looking for a special hotel in a special place to celebrate a special anniversary. Rodel was all we could have wished for and more with excellence in so many ways that without doubt we will come again. Donnie, Dena and all their team made us very welcome from the moment we arrived and our two dogs were... more

This lovely Hotel is a well kept secret and one I heard of by word of mouth, its set in one of the most picturesque places I’ve ever stayed. The Hotel is owned and run by a very warm and welcoming couple who looked after me and the family very well. Kids are well catered for, rooms are traditional and... more

August 2008 While on the Isle of Harris we discovered that it was one of the few hotels and restaurants open on a Sunday! And it was a joy and amazing experiance to find such beautiful food - wonderfully prepared and fresh. The restaurant itself could equal any best establishment in Europe. Marie Ferguson-Smith more

Stayed here for two nights (19th and 20th July). Fantastic hotel, staff and food. We were late in arriving, so ate elsewhere on route to the hotel on the first night...BIG mistake. the meal we received on our second night in the Rodel was poles apart. Breakfast was also very good...perfect scrambled eggs, which could only be improved with the... more
