Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed for two nights at this lovely and centrally located Guest House. We arrived early but as the room was ready we could check in which was great; we were offered a drink and made to feel very welcome. There is car parking at the back which was a bonus. A good breakfast selection to choose from and very tasty. The couple that own it are very friendly and made our stay very enjoyable. Would definitely recommend if you’re visiting Barmouth.

This Bed & Breakfast is 5 star which we came across by accident. Spotlessly clean, Breakfast excellent, Our hosts nothing too much trouble and such a lovely welcome from them. Without any hesitation we would recommend this B & B which must be the best in Barmouth with views which have to be the finest you would find anywhere. The Richmond House is an absolute credit to the young couple who own this establishment as I have already said absolutely faultless 5 star.

Enjoyed our stay, perfect weather. We had a large, light room on the 2nd floor with views over the sea. Lots of stairs. Perfect position in Barmouth, on the high street. Back door leads through a lovely garden with parking, to the harbour and beach. Breakfast was delicious, particularly the scrambled egg & smoked salmon bagels. Friendly hosts.

Nicky and Dylan are very friendly hosts making us a cup of tea on arrival. The B and B is very comfortable and it felt very homely. It is in a great location on the pretty harbour side of Barmouth right in front of the beach. Close to great eating places and coffee shops.

We booked Richmond house as it had such excellent reviews. The reviews are thoroughly deserved as we could not find any faults. The location is superb with parking at the rear of the building. A beautiful house with many original features and our room was clean, very comfortable with a lovely view overlooking the beach. The breakfast was one of the best I've ever eaten and is worthy of all the high praise given in previous reviews. The owners Dylan and Nicky clearly care about their guests and do their utmost to ensure your stay is as nice as possible. We will definitely be returning to the Richmond and only wish we could have stayed longer this time

We booked on a whim as a weekend getaway and were really pleased with our choice. The location overlooking the beach is spot on. Parking is good and the house is spacious and welcoming. Our hosts were great. Nothing was too much trouble and they made our stay very good. Breakfast ( sometimes a challenge for Coeliac sufferers) was big, filling and tasty. All GF and set us up for a day of walking in the mountains. I would have no hesitation in recommending Richmond House to anyone looking for a stay in Barmouth.

Firstly I have to say we enjoyed our visit, there was easy parking, very friendly and attentive hosts and good food and accommodation. What was a bit annoying was that we reported that the bathroom radiator did not work and we were told that the problem was a faulty valve that would be repaired the next day ( Saturday) but it was not. An oil filled radiator was promptly provided and appreciated but please don’t say you will fix something and then not do it. I got the impression that this was a long standing fault.

Response from RichmondHouse, Owner at Richmond House
Responded 18 May 2018
Hi Mark, Thanks for your feedback. Your report of the faulty bathroom radiator was the first that we knew of the problem - and it was our intention to fix it as quickly as possible the following day. However, we couldn't get a replacement for the valve locally - so we had to order it, which meant that we couldn't fix it that day (Saturday), as I think we explained. Hopefully the oil-filled radiator was an adequate alternative. Anyway - for your peace of mind, I can confirm that the radiator valves have been replaced, and it heats up as and works as it should - so if you return, everything will be working!!

We have just returned from a two night stay at this lovely B&B and would definitely return. Perfect location for exploring Barmouth and spending time on the beach. The hosts were welcoming and we couldn't fault the room or facilities. We had ample room as a family, with separate bedrooms and a bathroom spread over one floor. The breakfast was lovely and we were made to feel very welcome. Would highly recommend.
