On the way back from Wales to Rosslare my husband and myself decided to spend the night in Fishguard. It was after 7pm when two weary travellers pushed open the door of The Manor House, requesting a bed for the night. The owner couldn't be nicer or more welcoming. He gave us a choice of two rooms, and we selected... more

Under the new management of a very friendly couple this is a lovely B&B, full of character with spacious rooms, elegantly furnished. We stayed for 1 night before catching the ferry home to Ireland but would happily have stayed for more. It's not cheap but it seemed on a par with most of the other accommodation in the area. more

We received a warm welcome (it was pouring cats and dogs when we arrived) with a lovely cup of tea and a slice of delicious sponge cake and were impressed with the size of our room. A lot of effort has obviously gone into furnishing and decorating the rooms in a traditional old-fashioned style, which, although I loved it, was... more

This was the perfect place to stay for a long-weekend hiking trip on the nearby Pembrokeshire Coast National Trail. The proprietor and chef, Gail, made some of the most amazing food we've had anywhere, which we enjoyed two different nights during our stay. She was also very accomodating of our 1-year-old son, offering to make special food for him at... more

The best small hotel I have ever stayed in. Every home comfort you could ever wish for and the owners treat you like family. The location is great for exploring the area and there are some nice little pubs nearby. If you are a foodie, you will adore the breakfasts - you will put on a stone or two after... more

The hotel is charming with cosy but surprisingly large bedrooms. The food is excellent and the garden is perfect for enjoying the views over the water. It is probably better suited to a romantic break than a family holiday but there are plenty of things for children to do in the area too. more

Gail Stewart makes your stay really enjoyable. She takes a lot of trouble over her meals and we had a 3 course evening meal for £19. She serves organic food when she can and sources her food locally where available. The view from our room was stupendous and overlooked the old harbour. I read a review by the Guardian which... more

Perfect place at the perfect time. I was on my way via train from Cardiff to Ireland via the ferry at Fishguard (Abergwaun). The weather was terrible; cold, intense wind, rain, etc. and to make matters far worse, the train was delayed for a couple hours due to a suicide on the train tracks. Not a great way to be winding... more

If you like character, charm and super service, this is the place for you (those of you who like bland, square white boxes don't need to read any further). We spent 12 days at The Manor Town House in August this year. The owners - James and Gail - made us feel very welcome from the moment we walked in.... more

The Manor Town House is a charming old place, however don't expect young children to be welcomed with open arms. Despite having booked "family" rooms, part of our group were shown to their accomodation with the comments "we don't usually take children". There was also a warning not to let the children touch any of the ornaments in the rooms,... more

Management response from

We are sorry to hear that some members of this large family party with children were not happy with their stay here. We went out of our way to accommodate them, by putting a fold-up bed in a room which is not really suitable for children, because the other half of the party were occupying the family room. We have...
