A visit to this Victorian Hall makes an amazing day out. It is a guided visit with a difference - you are shown round by one of the family who own and live in the Hall. They have restored the building to something like its original splendour, but added their own personal touch and decor. You capture something of the feeling of what it must have been like to live here in Victorian times. You get to see all 52 rooms - original tiled floors, marble fireplaces, magnificent four-poster beds, wonderful paintings, book collections and lots of memorabilia. The snooker room is especially interesting with a beautiful stained glass ceiling. How do the family live here yet manage to keep it all so immaculate and tidy?
The setting too is amazing, in the heart of rural mid Wales, with the ruins of a Cistercian Abbey just over the road. You also have chance to walk round the walled garden, terraces, and woodland.
