We had a great time staying at the Dragon. Room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The location is excellent - slap bang in the middle of the delightful village of Crickhowell, which has a good range of options for meals out (including the bear hotel, a favourite of ours for pub food). We didnt eat there in the evening, but... more

The Inn is in the centre of Crickhowell which is pretty little town between the Brecon Beacons and the Black Mountains. We spent two nights at the Inn, the owner was very welcoming, easy to chat to and keen to ensure that we felt at home. The room was comfortable, warm and well furnished. The whole atmosphere was relaxing. We... more

After booking in to have a nice weekend away including a lovely lunch at The Foxhunter restaurant in Nantyderry (which was fab!) my fiance and I arranged to stay in Crickhowell so we would have some more options for dinner, rather than being out in the countryside. I booked over the phone with the manager at the Dragon Inn, who,... more

If you are in the area and have time to spare, drop in for Lunch, you will not be dissapointed. Monkfish and king prawns in filo pastry with a garlic and herb cream sauce......superb! Very reasonably priced too..... more

I am a great fan of trip advisor having planned several away days based upon trip advisor research On this occasion I did not check out the Dragon Hotel before making a booking. I did out of interst check the place out after I stayed there. Now that brings to mind something about after horses have bolted.!! However I am... more

Turned up 'on spec' and booked in for one night. Liked it so much stayed a further night. Room excellent, staff very friendly and helpful. Resturant busy with local customers (allways a good sign), food superb. Breakfast also first class. I know the area well, will be visiting again and will stay at the Dragon. more

In the last month we have been all over the world, New York London, Paris etc and this was the best hotel we stayed in. The service was great, the food excellect and the rooms fun. You can overlook a lot if the service is great and these people provided the best service we had on our holiday. The restaurant... more

Stayed here whilst at the nearby Green Man music festival this year. It was a particularly muddy year and the staff were laid-back and smiley despite the mud we had unavoidably brought back. Lovely setting, easy to find, extremely comfortable room, breakfast simple and tasty and the staff attentive when you wanted them to be and left you to your... more

We stayed here last weekend and fully agree with the review by efoRoyston_UK. The website gives a very misleading impression of what you'll expect and although the owner has been in place nearly a year there seems little evidence of any refurbishment, although the owner is apparently planning to do some. We had to ring the bell several times when... more

My husband and I just returned from our stay at the Dragon Hotel and cannot say enough good things about the place. The new owner not originally from the hotel trade is doing a beautiful job refurbishing the hotel and when it is all said and done it will be very beautiful. The superior rooms are comfortable, modern and clean... more
