I stayed at this hotel on two occasions, to and from my way to Margarita Island.
I have used a individual by the name of 'Jonathon' that is a porter and taxi driver at Simon Bolivar International Airport. His explanation of going to this hotel was that it was closer to the airport than the previous hotel (Santiago) that I had stayed at.
My flight was late getting, I arrived and cleared customs at 2:00 AM. on the 12 Dec'08.
Due to the late time of arrival, Jonathon was not there, but 'Manuel', he took me to the Tanausu Hotel. As other travellers have mentioned it is a 'Fort'. The trip to the hotel cost me 100(000)Bs. In the morning, I attempted to get a receipt, but was unable to do so because I am English Speaking, hotel personnel Spanish speaking. I had Jonatham to write out my expenditures, was the only thing I could accomplish. The room cost was 180(000) Bs. Small cafe does not open until 8:00 AM.
