This was our 2nd trip to Africa, 2nd time in Botswana. Having experienced safari previously, we had some idea what to expect. How wrong we were. Mombo's safari experience was the best by far. It seems around every corner, there was another wonderful sight to behold. Our game viewing truly became a life lesson on how the animal kingdom interacts,... more

I stayed in 5 different camps in Botswana and Zambia.Mombo is by far the best, in accomodation, food and most important the variety and number of animals. Very friendly staff. more

My girlfriend and I stayed two nights at Mombo camp. The service and accommodation were excellent. Food was good however not amazing (for this price point). The communal table is great for meeting new people but can be a bit tiring if you don't feel like being a social butterfly every night. I pondered for a long time while planning... more

We stayed at Little Mombo for three nights this August. We had two of the three rooms and enjoyed having the place to ourselves. Nat, the camp manager, was fantastic and instantly made us feel like part of the Little Mombo family. The setting is spectacular and the accommodations are first class. We were reluctant to spend the money but... more

Having just returned from our second stay at Mombo and our 4th Southern African safari I have to say Mombo is the best there is. Mombo is located on Chiefs Island in the Okavanga where wildlife is plentiful - had great sightings of leopard, lion, elephants, the last remaing wild dog and hundreds of zebra, giraffe, impala etc. The camp... more

Little Mombo was the last stop on our recent safari/diving trip to Southern Africa. On arrival from Kings Pool Camp to Little Mombo, we were greeted by several warthogs beside the runway. From that point on the Mombo experience was in many ways overwhelming. Absolutely nothing was too much for Nat, the Little Mombo manager to arrange. Aside from seeing... more

We stayed at several camps - all of them excellent but none of them in Botswana had this kind of viewing and isn't that what you are going for? The food and accommodations are certainly as good as any other but the viewing is continuous! We even had a large bull elephant right outside our tent! The guides are also... more

We decided, as a one-off experience, to go on a wldlife safari. The options were many, but Mombo Camp seemed to virtually guarantee we would see the 'Big Five' and much more. We were less sure that this would be the case at other locations, having heard from others who had been disappointed in South Africa. We gulped at the... more

When on safari in Africa, there is Mombo, and then there are all the rest. The difference in the game viewing between Mombo and the other camps is just not something that can be ignored; if you want to see animals in abundance, this is the place. We booked 18 months in advance, spent ghastly amounts of money, had a... more

I have been meaning to write this and regret I have neglected to do so earlier. The best guide ever is Richard Coke. He was simply the most charming and patient person, the best teacher, an outstanding scout, a solid driver, and an amazing philosopher that one could ever dream to have as a guide. Mombo Camp was terrific. too.... more
