We came here mainly for the Elephant activity, which is a wonderful opportunity to interact with three elephants trained by a transplant from the States. However, our stay at Stanley's wasn't that great, especially considering that the other camps we stayed at were considerably cheaper (~$200/person/night), had similar quality accommodations, and much better guides and game viewing. The game around... more

I stayed in Stanley's Camp for 4 nights/5 days in late June, and it was a phenomenal experience. On my first day I was the only person in camp, and they treated me like royalty. Every attention to detail is met, from the wonderful tent accomodations, to the game drives, to the excellent cuisine. All this was especially important as... more

Cannot speak highly enough of this camp. The best staff on the planet, fabulous food, SUCH an experience. Rooms more basic than some safari lodges but clean with ensuite and running water. All have decks overlooking the savannah and wildlife is abundant and close. If you only visit one place in Botswana, this MUST be it - it is a... more

We stayed at Stanley's Camp for three nights in mid-May. After a long 36 hour flight from Los Angeles, stopping at Heathrow in London, then on to Johannesburg, and another flight to Maun, Botswana we were exhausted when we arrived at Stanley's. We were quickly assisted to our tent #3, oriented to the camp, and served a private dinner in... more

We booked a 'luxury' vacation to Botswana at a premium price through Abercrombie & Kent. Although some of the A & K-owned accommodations lived up to the 'luxury' definition, this one certainly did not. The tents close by zippers that do not close completely; hot water for showers came in bursts of 20 seconds that changed to frigid water immediately;... more

I stayed here for 2 nights in April. The staff is very friendly and accomodating. The tents are nice and we never had any problems with bugs, etc. It is great to get your tea on the deck in the am and also the hammock was welcome. The wildlife is amazing and with just 2 properties on the reserve, you... more

March is part of the rainy season, and there was alot of water to drive through. This made for a different experience from other camps. March seemed to be the quiet time here, we had the camp to ourselves one day. If you have any interest in elephants you have to do the elephant trek with Doug. (p.s. read a... more

We stayed for three nights and wanted to stay longer. The factilties were wonderful, the food was fab. the staff were kind, helpful and very friendly, nothing was ever too much trouble. We saw so much more on the game drives than we expected to and our trip on the dug out canoe was unbelievable. We felt safe at all... more

Stanley's was everything I expected & hoped for. It's a beautiful, understated camp, that exudes the classic Africa that is slowly disappearing. Don't expect full-on luxury, but it's exceedingly comfortable, charming and relaxed. The tents are cozy & comfy with lovely African wood furnishings, an incredibly comfy bed & a great verandah with hammock alongside to look out over the... more

Spent a couple of nights here recently and had a good time. I didn't find the place to be quite as spectacular as some of the reviewers here thought, but it was pretty good. If this was your first safari I think you would be very impressed as everything works and they look after you well, but it didn't quite... more
