We spent three nights at Mpila in one of the two bed roomed chalets and thorougly enjoyed it. The camp shop does have provisions, but not many so well worth bringing everything you need. The camp doesn't have fences and given the sound of hyenas we cowardly cooked inside instead of using the braai, although I'm sure it would have... more

Mpila – Imfolozi Base Camp The tent is quite spacious with twin beds and mosquito nets, not really necessary in September. The ensuite has quite a good shower with lots of hot water. Outside the tent is a deck with table and bench seating and 3 camp chairs, ours were grubby. From this deck you can get to the kitchen... more

Well, it is always lovely to stay at Mpila camp and is well worth the drive up to it! The game is really lovely and you are very likely to get hyenas and bush pigs coming up close as well as the usual antelope. you may struggle to find elephant, leopards, cheetahs and lions but will hve no trouble finding... more

We spent 3 days and 2 nights at Mpila, great experience...saw 4 of the big 5. Staff were friendly and fun, especially No-no on the evening game drive! Nothing like watchin an African sunset over the hills. Accommodation was clean and comfortable, it was great to have no TV. more

We booked a week in Mpila Tented Camp for a mid year break. I am a keen photographer and was looking forward to getting some good pics. Being in Mpila is truly the best place to see game as we have been to Kruger Park before and this tops that !! Our first morning we saw giraffe, elephant, buffalo, rhino (which later... more

We booked our stay at Mpila camp through the Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife website. We had wanted to stay int the safari tents but unfortunately they were all booked up so we agreed, somewhat nervously, to stay in a rest-hut. I say nervously, because we had read how basic the huts were and that they were the oldest accommodation in the... more

My boyfriend and I booked this place because the other camp in the reserve, Hilltop, was full, however we were very glad that we did. The camp has no fence around it, making it a much more exciting experience staying there as the animals wander past at all times of the day and night. On our first night we were... more

We stayed in one of the 5 bed lodges at Mpila camp( the only thing available for the two of us--but they did a special price). Lights go at 10ish and it is over to candles or bed. Hyennas cleaned up our barbeque remains outside, and we woke early to the African bush sounds. We did one of their truck... more
