The roads leading south out of Memphis, TN, namely U. S. 61, aren't very interesting. That is until you cross U. S. Hwy 49 in northwest Mississippi and head west about 10 miles to Helena, AR. Cross the Mississippi River and drive about 1-1/2 miles north of the T-junction, then look to your left for The Edwardian Inn at 317 Biscoe Street.
This 1904 mansion is currently owned and operated as a superb B&B by John Crow. The Inn is exceptionally-well appointed with beautiful antique furniture. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Innkeeper Crow is a hands-on manager of the facility, and always serves a delightful breakfast. All of these amenities are available for a reasonable price.
He is an excellent tourguide for the area, even though there's not that much to see in Helena. He can certainly recommend some sites within a few miles of Helena though that are guaranteed to make your visit a memorable one. This is a B&B you'll want to visit again.
