I would not recommend this hotel. It had a nice setting but: - Our room had no window whatsoever, which made it like a cave - Loud music from speakers on the stage on the dock blared at various times of day and was inescapable, even in our room. We might not have been the target demographic, but I looked... More

My teen-aged girls loved this little tropical island in the Caribbean. The beaches are some of the most beautiful anywhere and you can have a large section of the beach to yourself. The water teems with sea life, which kept our girls busy. The island is so small that there are is only one resort with 40 rooms and they... More

Most of what you can read about this hotel here in the reviews is true. I’ll try to talk about things I haven’t read here. Information not on Decameron’s website: • There are two hours of departure from Decameron Cartagena to Decameron Isla Palma: 11am and 1pm. (We were misinformed about this). • For the 11am group, there’s breakfast included... More

Sure the bus is rough and it plays the music loud and constant but the isla is a gem. Rooms are large, unique and clean. Meals are varied and plentiful. Staff are friendly. Isolated, away from the beaten path, but with nature surrounding you and a beach that cuts through the ocean with waves on one side and tranquil waters... More

I booked the hotel from August 28 to September 3. Well first of all the misinformed us and told us that it would be a 2 hour boat trip to the island. They forgot to mention that starting septermber 1 it is no longer a 2 hr boat ride but instead a 15min boat ride to some god forfibben town... More

This is a 2 star hotel at best. So if you want to rough it out - it's perfect. Someone else on Trip Advisor called it Gilligan's Island and those were the first words from my wife when we got there. The boat ride from Cartagena to the hotel is fine. None of the staff on the boat or the... More

The island has parrots flying around, flamingoes, pelicans, fiddler crabs etc. The nature and wildlife is excellent. IS IT REAL? The caged dolphins looked really sad. Who wants to go to an eco-island and see dolphins being kept in a relatively small pool? They also appeared to have some sort of eye infection so were probably not in good health.... More

My husband and I took our daughter and her fairly new husband for 8 days on Isla Palma as a gift. We were worried at first that they may be bored. They are in their early 20's. We were greatly mistaken. They enjoyed it almost as much as we did. There are no clocks, no phones (excenpt one in the... More

This is the best place for vacation in the world known to me, I mean real vacation and relaxation. This trip was the third time I visited the Island. The first time I went, around the early 90's, it was a private island owned by a Colombian, according to the legend he was a famous "drug dealer" so we couldn't... More

We stayed at the Decameron Isla Palma for 3 nights late July, 2007. As a family, we like trying new places and have vacationed in Mexico, Hawaii, Costa Rica, and other popular beaches. We decided this time to do something very different. If you like the idea of “getting away from it all”, this is a great place to consider.... More
