I stayed at Gorillas Lake Kivu back in March 2012 and found it thoroughly relaxing in between a busy work schedule.
The pros:
Clean rooms, all with balconies
The garden area is very relaxing
Staff are friendly
Large conference room for meetings
The cons:
Could use some furniture on the balcony
AC would help in the conference room
It would...

The setting is gorgeous and the hotel very clean. The bed was great, the view terrific, and the balcony really nice. I though the restaurant was fine. My students had fun spending a day by the pool. Wi-fi was spotty. When we arrived, the sliding glass door to the balcony off my room was off the track and about to...

We stayed here as part of our Rwandan tour. It was comfortable and clean, view of Lake Kivu from the balcony was lovely. The reception staff were very helpful when I was trying to get hooked up with Wifi. The dining menu was a bit limited and certainly empty of patrons while were there. We all had spaghetti for dinner...

I stayed at this hotel for 1 night in July 2011. My group came to the Lake to relax after our gorilla trek.

This hotel is located close to Lake Kivu and has a nice setting. Good restaurant and excellent staff. We enjoyed it.

It may not have the dramatic lake front of the Serena but the location is good, with views of the lake and nice gardens, and the price at US$80 is certainly better value for money (although the pool wasn't working when I was there). Friendly and...

+ put mosquito nets in the bedrooms!!!
+ the people in the garden can be very noisy at times in the night, but hotel staff acted when called in;...

Rooms are fairly plain but comfortable, with balconies facing out over the lake. Bathrooms and clean, and their showers are great. Although...
