We stayed here both before and after our Kilimanjaro climb (also run by the owners of the hotel, Zara Tours). Rooms are pretty basic - 4 beds, ensuite bathroom, fan - and reasonably clean. Hotel is located down a bumpy dirt road - appears like an oasis out of nowhere. Restaurant is buffet-style - food is reasonable. Tons of staff... More

Springlands Hotel is owned and operated by Zara Tours (the US agency is Ultimate Kilimanjaro). If you stay at Springlands, then you probably have booked a Kili trek or safari with Zara Tours. The hotel is outside Moshi. Inside the hotel, it is quite reasonable: nice garden, rooms are basic but clean. Outside the hotel, there is nothing but a... More

I booked my Kili trip with Acacia Africa who outsources to Zara tours, the mob who operate this hotel. Included in the package was a night's accomodation before and after the trek. Zara operates their treks with fantastic efficency and are reasonably priced. The good things about Springlands- the hotel is simple, clean and sufficient. Don't expect luxury because it's... More

My friend and I stayed here in October 2010 as part of our Kili climb and Safari and had a nice time in doing so. Our room was clean, no problems in getting hot water (definitely needed on our return!!) and the staff were friendly and helpful. I've read through a couple of reviews and I want to respond directly... More

So It's about 1:30am California time and i'm wide awake, but that's because in Tanzania it's the middle of the afternoon and i'm still caught up on there time. Just got home earlier today, but anywho to the review: So i stayed in the hotel for about four nights and my stay was decent enough, so firstly the staff here... More

This is quite a difficult review to do as the hotel is used as a base for your pre and post Kili climb and the two are pretty synonymous, so therefore a great Kili experience inevitably results in a good review. I’m going to review the hotel objectively as an independent source of accommodation. The hotel is really basic and... More

Hi, We sincerely appreciate the post you posted on trip advisor, Springlands hotel page. We have noted your concern about the mosquito nets and the general display of the rooms and we are working to improve on that. Concerning the meals, we have employed new chefs and also improved on all our kitchen menus and we assure our present and... More

Stayed at Springlands hotel before and after my Kilimanjaro hike. Its within a gated community, so you feel quite safe. Everyone inside the hotel (should be called more of an inn) is really friendly and helpful. The staff will do everything within their power to help you out. Big bonus on the part of the hotel. However, the actual hotel... More

This was my first time in Tanzania, Africa. I found the hotel to be well cared for, inside it's walls. The outside, surrounding area is reflective of a third world country in all respects! The employees at the hotel were more than friendly and helpful. The rooms were basic at best but clean and comfortable. The food, relatively speaking, was... More

I stayed at the Springlands hotel as part of a package to climb mt. Kilimanjaro. The hotel is *very* basic. Almost rustic. The beds were hard, there is no air conditioning, and the cleanliness is a little suspect. Anywhere else in the world, and it wouldn't even rate as a one-star. Be warned, the amenities are *basic*! Now, that being... More

We stayed here three separate times over a two week span before/between/after our Kili clumb and safari. It was relatively clean and everyone speaks English. The showers barely had any hot water and we were only 'lucky' enough to have a double bed (as opposed to a couple of single beds) once in our three separate stays. The staff has... More

Hi, We appreciate the comment you posted on the Trip advisor Springlands hotel page. We have noted your concern on having cold showers, the heaters are not instant, you switch it on and give it 5 minutes to heat, then open the tap, and let the clod water initially in the pipes to flow, then get the warm shower. We... More
