I stayed at the Fu Man Di Hotel over Easter 2008, and found it to be an excellent Hotel in the middle of town.
The rooms were clean, and the service was fine (although nobody spoke English) the beds though were rock hard (apparently alot of Chinese people like it that way) so I'd ask for a blanket to be placed under the sheets next time.
It has a "western" restaurant, a "sauna" floor and a "night club" zone I did'nt try these as I had other things to do but the night club was never a cause for nuisance or alarm (I never heard it).
Overall I can say that the Fu Man Di is a good hotel for the weary traveller and for families, modern, clean, cheap and secure. more
