Kaytumadi Dynasty was by far the nicest hotel in which I stayed during my trip to Burma. The duplex bungalow concept is unique and allows for a great deal of privacy. On the downside, this hotel is far from anything you'd want to do either in New Bagan or Nyaung U. A cab ride from the hotel to Nyaung U is about $7US. The staff is typically Burmese in that they fall all over themselves trying to carry your bags and make sure you're comfortable. As with most places in Burma, the electricity is spotty and you'll experience some outages. The room is very big by local standards and the bathroom is gigantic. Also nice is the little sitting area on the front porch where I enjoyed taking a breather and updating my travel journal. If you don't need to be right in the thick of things as far as shops and restaurants go, I'd defeinitely recommend this hotel. more
