The Popa mountain resort which is located on a huge mountain soaring 1000 metres overlooking the Popa Taungkalat monastry is set in a stunning location. It is actually located one hour's drive away from Bagan. Anyway the resort was built by a Singaporean in 1997. It has since been the best resort in the area by far. The resort has 50 chalet style accomidations spread well arond the sight with amazing views down the sides of the mountain. To get up there you have to drive one and a half hours from the airport and then drive up the mountain for 15 minutes before reaching paradise.

The Exellent location is one of the main reasons this place is so popular. Located 750 metres above sea level it has great views not only from it's rooms but also the pool and the restaurant.
