Stayed at this hotel for two nights last week and am afraid to say that I got food poisoning from their kitchen along with a number of other people. We all ate the same dish. I missed my valuable sightseeing day around the sites of Bagan. The staff were friendly and the manager when I pointed out what had happened... more

The BaganThiripyitsaya has a great location, with many of the major Bagan Pagodas within a 10 minute bike ride. The hotel staff does a great job, always friendly and willing to assist in any possible way. If you stick to Burmese style food, you won't be disappointed. However, western food isn't up to par and menu descriptions and what arrives... more

The hotel was advertised on the river but more like in the vicinity of the river. The room was furnished like a cabin at sleep away camp. Very plain , not luxurious in any way. Spartan. Definitely felt like a inexpensive motel composed of cottages. Musty smelling room. We disliked it so much we paid a 50 percent penalty and... more

We stayed a couple of nights here in April: the hot season. The temperature was pushing 40 deg C each afternoon and the visibility was only a few km in haze (pollution from China, burning rice stubble?) so we saw no spectacular sunsets. The grounds along the banks of the Irrawaddy are expansive and well tended, with special attention paid... more

... not because of the rooms (which are a bit spartan, but not as bad as the reviewers say), but because of the excellent food, the gorgeous pool and grounds, and the fantastic service. The manager and the staff could not be lovelier. The service was probably the best we've ever had. We stayed at a five-star business hotel in... more

Bagan is one of the wonders of the world. More impressive than Angkor Wat if you want to compare. Go there now before tourists arrive and you won't regret it. It is a gem and a true wonder of the world. If you go, because getting there is not easy, I recommend this hotel because it is well located, lovely... more

The view of the irrawady river along with the landscaping of the grounds and the pool area are the best things about this hotel. It is a beautiful view. The room is quite a disappointment after a tour of the grounds. I concur with the prior reviews: thin walls, uncomfortable bed, poor lighting, and small bathroom. After taking a look... more

Beautiful grounds on the Irrawaddy with some secluded areas and romantic hideaways. Our youngest daughter had her 21st birthday in this hotel and discussed the menue with the cook, who went out of his way to prepare a grand dinner on the terrace. We happened to also watch the "elephant dance", which is quite humoristic, but the type of music... more

2nd hotel among the 8 we stayed in Myanmar trip. So far the best of all the hotels, food is nice but expensive. Alternatively, can walk far a bit to Bagan Thande Hotel nearby for dinner. Bagan Thande hotel able to access by walking through a passage way after Hotel's Riverview Suite. If you are adventurous enough, do walk with... more
