Olas de Oro is a top quality complex of villas and apartments right next to the beach about 1k out of Cabarete. They are priced at the higher end of the market in Cabarete.

We booked Villa 18, a three bed villa with its own pool as a special treat for a retirement holiday with our family. Although the villa was lovely we were hugely disappointed by the amount of building work and associated noise that was taking place all around. When we arrived we noticed that renovation was taking place in the villa next door but we were assured by the management that all work had finished for the time being and we would be left in peace, that was incorrect, the next day there was a huge amount of noise from next door with continual banging at digging new cable routes throughout the property and completely stripping the plaster from the interior, these guys haven’t got power tools so there was about half a dozen of them with hammer and cold chisel going at it solid for nine hours a day.
