Room was clean and had working heater/AC and TV. Owner is a very friendly guy who took me to and from the entrance of Petra over two days for free, and hooked me up with cheap dinner at a nearby restaurant. Minor annoyances: shower was a little awkward to use, though, and other guests tend to slam doors, which resonates... more

We looked at several hotels in Petra and this was the cleanest and best value hotel that we saw. The rooms and bathrooms are bright and clean, and the price includes breakfast with seemingly unlimited tea and coffee and second helpings. The hotel also offers a free taxi service to and from the site which is about a 20minute walk... more

We arrived at the Shara Mountain hotel from Wadi Rum and were able to check in early, which was great as it was raining and the hiking at Petra was not good. Mahmoud the owner, went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable during the stay. The room was cleaned every night and fresh towels and linens.... more

The hotel was clean and comfortable, and the two owners were really helpful. They arrange a free shuttle to take you from the hotel to the Petra site, and will collect you again at a time of your choosing. They also helped us to book a taxi for our journey to Aqaba, getting a good price and saving us the... more

We stayed here on our trip to Petra last week and had an enjoyable experience. The owner was very accomodating and helped us book our return bus trip to Amman as well as shuttling us around Petra and providing a ride to and from the Park entrance. We thought the hotel was clean and well located for travellers and would... more

Very nice hotel especially for the price in Wadi Musa. Rate also included breakfast, even at the break of dawn (so we could get to Petra before the tour buses). Staff were agreeable to a last minute date-change of our booking which was a great relief, and helped secure us Petra-by-night tickets prior to our arrival. Rooms are basic, en-suite,... more

We chose this hotel because we were on a budget and needed something convinient and this hotel exactly served that purpose. The location of the hotel is in Wadi Musa which is the area where most of the hotels are (unless you are looking for a 5 star hotel!!) which is just 5 min away by car from the entrance... more

I arrived here after friends advised me against some of the lonely planet picks. Its unassuming and comfortable and the brothers that help run it were, more so than Petra, the highlight of my trip to Jordan. My friend and I sat and chatted with them for hours in the evenings. They also helped to get us good rates on... more
