I would agree with other reviews about the state of the hotel. It is definitely tired, and not really worth the five stars. The beds were comfortable, amenities provided, all as it should be in a five-star, but it definitely needs refurbishment. The main benefit of this hotel is its location within walking distance of Petra. The rooms are mainly ouside on several levels and if raining one would get wet going to the reception and dining room areas. The room was not ready when we arrived after 8 p.m.; it was chaos at the front desk, and when we finally got our room, it was dirty, dingy, and smelled of mold/mildew. Bathroom was not clean. Staff could not change our room b/c they had "no more left," but kept checking in people at the desk as we complained.... more
