The hotel is a short walk to Petra however the Movenpick is a nicer hotel and actually nearer despite what people say on here. The hotel is quite dated and the rooms are small and furnished with nothing newer than 20 years old. But it isn't tatty or falling apart and the service and advice is good throughout the hotel.... more

We stayed at the Crowne Plaza Petra for 2 nights. It is clearly the place to stay in order to see Petra itself as it is so close (a 2 minute walk from the gates). The service was ok as well. Breakfast had a good range. Where the hotel is let down is the rooms. You couldn't swing a cat... more

We stayed at the Petra Guesthouse , which is actually part of the Crown Plaza but in a separate building. The location is really great, just about inside the gate to Petra itself. The Guesthouse has recently been refurbiushed so the fittings and fixtures are all new, however this does not make up for the size of the rooms which... more

I would agree with other reviews about the state of the hotel. It is definitely tired, and not really worth the five stars. The beds were comfortable, amenities provided, all as it should be in a five-star, but it definitely needs refurbishment. However, I again agree with the other reviews about the location - it's so close to the entrance... more

The main benefit of this hotel is its location within walking distance of Petra. The rooms are mainly ouside on several levels and if raining one would get wet going to the reception and dining room areas. The rooms were comfortable but the carpet in the room had not been vacuumed prior to our visit. Bathrobes were provided, but slippers... more

The room was not ready when we arrived after 8 p.m.; it was chaos at the front desk, and when we finally got our room, it was dirty, dingy, and smelled of mold/mildew. Bathroom was not clean. Staff could not change our room b/c they had "no more left," but kept checking in people at the desk as we complained.... more

This hotel is tired to say the least. the room was quite scruffy, it is jaded and needs an uplift. We had to walk outside the main building to get to our room and along pathways that resembled a prison!! The food was good, we were kept in the group we travelled with for our meals, not ideal. The second... more

The hotel is really close to the entrance for Petra. Its communal areas and the views from the terrace are good - so is the food. BUT the rooms are really poor for a 4 Star hotel - drawers that don't close, curtains that don't meet, mould on the tiles in the bathroom, dangerous small step down in to the... more

I stayed here for two nights in early October, the location is excellent as the hotel lies just outside the entrance to Perta, and the view from outside my room and the pool area of the caves and rocks is nice. The breakfast was really nice, all kinds of things to choose from and also I had two buffet evening... more
