Arrived at this hotel and had to search for staff. Our assigned room was not the suite we had booked and it was rather dated . It took some negotiation to be refunded the difference in room price and it was clear they had over booked. We decided against the restaurant which was full of Americans with gigantic girths ( I... more

I spent two nights at the Petra Marriott as a stopover to Sharm El Sheikh. We visited Petra for the sites, not the food, not the shopping, etc. This hotel served our needs. Housekeeping items: First, I am a Marriott Platinum Rewards member so I did not consider any other hotels in the area. Overall this is a great hotel... more

...it is a shame that this hotel has this name ! This hotel was the biggest disappointment ever. The first room assigned smelled strangely and the bathroom was dirty, so was it with the second….and only after asking for a new room for three times we got an acceptable room (probably the best in the hotel). Also, the hotel is... more

I had e mailed ahead asking for a quiet room, they replied saying they would comply with the request. On booking in we were allocated a room near the lift/ stairs. We asked for a change and they gave us a nice quiet room. But why was our request not flagged against our names on the Booking system? The food... more

The location was fine. Rooms were fine. Restaurant was fine. Bar terrace had an incredible view of the valley with sunset after having spent the day in Petra. Hotel was a bit outdated, but still good quality and rooms were nice - even if decor seems to be dating from colonial phase. Maybe it was the intent... Hotel is on... more

The positives - the views are amazing, and the sunset is not to be missed. The pool was a welcome respite from the 40 degree C heat. We ordered room service at one point and the food arrived promptly and was very tasty. The negatives - It's about 5KM from Petra itself and while there is a free shuttle in... more

We stayed for 2 nights at the Petra Marriott. It was simply ok. The rooms are small and mainly smoking. The bathrooms are also small. The food breakfast buffet was ok. There are several types of cereal, fruits and a chef that makes eggs. The sunset views are beautiful. We often enjoyed a drink outside and watched the sunset. It... more

Not quite up to the quality of the other 2 Marriott's in Jordan but still pretty good and would recommend for the price (we paid £60 per night and stayed 3 nights). The views from this hotel are awesome and i would definately chose this location as to Wadi Musa. Its only a 5 Dinar taxi ride and 10 minutes... more

Because my husband has Marriott points, we stayed in all three Marriotts in Jordan, and of the three this was my least favorite. But that in no way means I didn't like the hotel - I did. As others have said, this hotel is a little ways from the "tourist strip" and entrance to Petra, but because of that it... more

The Petra Marriott was the best hotel during our trip through Israel and Jordan. The staff was very nice. The hotel is at the top of the valley and not right at the entrance to Petra, but it has a stunning view of the valley, especially at sunset. You can sit out by the pool or on the deck and... more
