Hotel entrance was OK but hotel is generally very run-down and badly maintained. Bed was not comfortable. Water in shower was luke-warm and water pressure was not good. Breakfast was below average. more

I am baffled by some of the reviews. I have just come back and thought this hotel was absolutely appalling. I moved rooms twice, but, even so, the room room I ended up in was distinctly below average. The first problem was finding the room since the layout and numbering of the rooms was a complete bafflement and the signage was... more

This hotel is about 5 min walk to the main gate into Petra, it's not like Guesthouse that's right on othe gate. However, it does have a nice bar for people to hang out. The rooms are clean, some of the hardware in the bathroom could use some updating, but overall, it's clean and fine for day trips into Petra... more

This hotel is used by tour groups so the restaurant is always full, but the buffet is fine, although the staff have trouble keeping up with drink orders. The hotel appears to have potential due to its location and occupancy rate, but the rooms in the new wing are hard to find, the pool is ice cold, the aircon didn't... more

I am beginning to think the other reviewers are staying in a different hotel. We stayed in the PPH for one night after having issues with the place we had booked originally. On the phone, the staff were incredibly helpful in giving us a triple even though there was only one room left in the whole hotel. When we arrived,... more

Disappointed by this place. At first you like the welcome and think you're in a nice place. But when going further, the window of our room was badly built therefore not closing, no hot water the first day, terrible smell of oil in the corridors, no children chair in the restaurant, freezing swimming pool. Too expensive for what it offers... more

We stayed here as part of a Voyage Jules Verne tour of Jordan. This is in their standard hotel category but that is an understatement to say the least. This is a very poor hotel. The rooms whilst clean are very dated and need considersable investment. The public areas of the hotel are not much better and the breakfast which... more

After one night our whole party (16 people) asked to move rooms. The whole block smelt of petrol. The rooms were gruby and tatty and there were bare electric wires in our bathroom.New room was still not perfect -we had only a trickle of hot water in the shower, but it was an improvement on the first room we had where the bed... more

I stayed in the Petra Palace for 3 nights. I had a single room and my parents who were also on the tour had a double. Their double room opened up onto the pool and was nice, my single however was in the old section and was terrible. It was dark, dirty and a stark contrast to the newer rooms.... more

I agree with the earlier posting "You don't come to Petra to stay in your hotel". This hotel is an adequate place to stay. It reminded me of a slighly worn/run down Holiday Inn from the 70s. The bedding and shower was clean, and we found the hotel staff most helpful and accommodating. Even though the bar was closed for... more
