Avian leisure is a superb holiday venue and I would recommend it to all travelers who intend on visiting Cape Town. The views and rooms are amazing (We stayed in both rooms and they are both fantastic) The hosts are also fantastic! If you are doing Cape Town - do Avian Leisure!

This was the best accommodation in our 4 week visit to South Africa. The view was excellent and the rooms were exceptionally large & clean. Great value, very comfortable, & excellent hosts! We'll be back.

Beautiful apartment. The library contains many very interesting books - it is a pity we could not stay longer. Being situated high on the mountain it receives the full blast of the Cape's south-easter which is an experience for people from the interior! We thoroughly enjoyed the one-night stay.

An associate had made arrangements for us to stay at Avian Leisure, a self-catered establishment overlooking Boulders Beach, world-famous for its South African penguin viewing and spectacular white-sand beaches. We couldn't have been more pleased with our 5-night stay and would not hesitate to recommend Avian Leisure to friends and clients. The accommodation is not only tastefully decorated and appointed... Stayed in July 2011 and this accommodation is absolutely stunning. We were a family of four and it was an ideal base to explore Cape Town and the surrounding area. We were concerned that it may be too far from the Cape Town attractions but this was not the case if you planned trips to avoid the peak traffic times.... More

We Stayed several days at this B&B, owned & operated by the Cardwell's; because we were taking a private birding tour with Patrick. This is one of the best venues we've experienced, in part because of the wonderful backyard birdwatching, which results from the Cardwell's decision to grow only native shrubs. Helping to preserve these important nectar producing flowering shrubs... More

Avian Leisure should be renamed Avian Pleasure because that's what it is to stay there. We are truly lucky to have found AL and it was everything we expected and more. This was our first trip to Sth. Africa and we stayed for 18 days in the Avian Leisure apartments Watsonia and Shearwater, upgrading to Shearwater on our final week..... More
